(April 18, 2019 / Author: Tim Bondy) On June 12, 2014, I headed to the South Fork of the Boise River below Anderson Ranch Dam for some fishing. I heard there was an on-going salmon fly hatch in the canyon so I didn’t expect to catch any trout with my spinning reel and lure. But I did expect to capture some of the beauty of this area on my camera.

I didn’t catch any fish on this trip but this doesn’t surprise me at all. The South Fork of the Boise River “below the dam” is a place where I have my troubles hooking into fish. Not so much in any other water with the exception of the Teton River near Choteau, Montana.
