It seems like Mountain Home is a magnet for recreation vehicles. Of course, we have one of the nicest RV Parks in Idaho if you read reviews of places like these. And it also appears that RV’er have plenty of time to write about their travels and more specifically, the troubles they have along the way.
On the “LAB on the Road” website, I found a second less than positive post from an RV’er traveling through Mountain Home and both in a 10 day span. While this mini-review of this couple’s troubles is not quite as troubling as the first one (see this post), it does underscore how fast word of even minor problems can spread. In this case, it was a broken air compressor at a local gas station that annoyed an RV’er. Maybe a tourist who will not come back again!
The internet may seem somewhat unimportant to local businesses in town but it’s a very power tool when someone has troubles…because we know a vast majority of bloggers will never write a post about a business or city when everything goes right. I guess when you sit in the comfort of an RV, driving across Idaho, you have more than enough time to let problems stew in your brain and then jump on the trusty computer to tell the world. It’s a simple process that is changing the way people share information. The question is, will that information be a good thing or a bad thing?
