Two Good Nights at the Silverhorn Motor Inn at Kellogg Idaho
We spent two nights at the Silverhorn Inn in Kellogg, Idaho and found the hotel to be very pleasant and well worth the money. This older hotel is showing its age but the things that matter are in good condition and comfortable. The two queen beds in our room were in good shape and there were 3-4 pillows on each bed. There was a newer microwave and refrigerator came in handy for warming left-overs and keeping our drinks cold for the next day. The bathroom was adequate and clean while the shower really gave you a good pounding with strong water pressure.
About the only thing I could gripe about was the wireless internet. We got little to no wireless service in the room but I took my laptop out into the lobby and easily downloaded the maps and directions I needed for my little fishing trip I took. Not a very big inconvenience having to walk 100 feet down a hallway to surf the internet. They also have a “house computer” in the lobby for your use.
As far as eating? There is a family style restaurant located right in the hotel and we had two very good breakfast meals there. There is a semi-fast food type place within 50 yards that serves a variety of food. We had some burgers that were hot, fresh and tasty. And then there is a “Subway” within easy walking distance too.

We spent $85 a night for a room on Wednesday/Thursday night on June 2nd and 3rd 2010. We didn’t check any other hotels in person but understand that most of them are just as or more expensive than the Silverhorn. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I’m ever in the Kellogg area again.
