I was reading a news article about Buck Knives, Inc today and discovered that this company was started by Hoyt Buck right here in Mountain Home, Idaho. Maybe I’m slow on the uptake or don’t know much about my town but I find this interesting.

The first knife I bought with my very own money was a Buck Knife. I was in high school and thought it would be nice to buy locally. At that time (late 1970’s) Buck Knives, Inc was headquartered in San Diego, California and I also lived in this area. I still have my trusty Buck Knife and it goes with me every time I head out to hike, bike and on each ATV trip.
Since the time I bought my trusty old Buck knife, they have moved back to Idaho. While we all know they are no longer creating their legendary knives in Mountain Home, do you know where their main factory is located? In Post Falls, Idaho in the northern part of the State.
I highly recommend reading the entire article about Buck Knives from the New American website found at:

As occasionally happens though, links like these tend to fade away and are no longer accessible so I took the liberty of making a copy of this cool article and you can download it by clicking on the following pdf link.
