Snorkeling Anderson Ranch Reservoir

Why No Recent Idaho Adventure Posts?

(12 Sept. 2019 / Author: Tim Bondy) The summer of 2019 has been a tough period for me because of injuries, aches, and pains. While I was able to work through all these aches and pains during the spring of 2019, a knee injury has kept me “grounded” for a majority of our Idaho summer. Hiking, biking and sloshing through trout and salmon-filled streams is and likely will not be possible until the meniscus tendon heals.

I have run up to the lake on a number of occasions this summer for some swimming, snorkeling and bank fishing. The snorkeling is a new hobby I thought I’d try out. Let me tell you, snorkeling in Anderson Ranch Reservoir is way different than in Maui. And by way different, I mean way less colorful and way less underwater visibility. Still, it beat sitting around banging on the old keyboard as a freelance writer.

Getting a pair of my Muk Luks ready for the long Idaho winter.

I am hopeful that by late October 2019, the pains and tendons in this old body of mine will support some easy hikes. And if that all works out, maybe more strenuous wintertime hike could be possible.

Until I’m healed, life will be a whole lot grayer and a whole lot less exciting.

So, there you go … now you know why I haven’t been posting my adventures on this website. In the future … maybe? Fingers crossed.

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.” ~ Lance Armstrong
