(March 13, 2019 / Photographer: Tim Bondy) I went skiing at Bogus Basin, outside of Boise, Idaho, on March 11, 2019. It was a bluebird day with over 100 inches of snow on the ground, and temperatures climbing to 33°F by the afternoon. With about 1,800 vertical feet, 2,600 acres of skiable terrain and no lift lines during midweek, it’s easy to ski your ass off before lunch. I recommend you pace yourself or you might burn out early, as I did.

To me, the Bogus Basin ski area is a rather unconventional and confusing to navigate around ski area. I’m usually extremely good with maps but the ski resort trail map is virtually useless to me for some reason. I did manage to ski around almost all parts of the resort with the exception of the Bitterroot Chairlift trail system and that was only because that lift wasn’t running on this Monday in March 2019.
