I bought a new Canon SX130 Digital Camera on January 5th, 2010. This replaces my old Canon PowerShot A570 digital camera. As I have only used this new 12 megapixel, “point and shoot” camera a few times, I don’t have much to say about it yet. But in the coming months I will post additional information and opinions about it.
Some Information
Price: $178.00
Megapixels: 12.1
Power: AA Batteries
Things I Don’t Like:
After using the Canon SX130 for a couple of days, I’m a little disappointed. My biggest concern is the weight and size of the camera. This camera weighs much more than my old Canon A570 and is a little bigger too. The other thing I’m disappointed about is the slipperiness of the camera body.
Things I Like:
I think the pictures are of a much better quality than the one’s taken with my A570 model. I also love the AA battery power. In the long run, using rechargeable AA’s will end up saving me big money. I’ve had cameras that had proprietary or unique type batteries. Those types are expensive to replace if you can find them.
Only Time Will Tell:
I took over 8000 pictures with my old Canon A570 and loved it. It was used and abused for 3 years but finally junk got inside the lens making for some horrible splotches on every picture. Once I learn how to use it and experiment with some of the new features of the PowerShot SX130, I’m sure I will like it just fine. Check back in the coming weeks and months for addition reviews.
