100 Mile Motorcycle Race and Gopher Bounty In Owyhee County
Was browsing the most current Owyhee County Council Meeting Minutes for a January 26th, 2010 and thought there were two items of interest.
1. The county will provide traffic control for the "Rabbit Creek 100" cross country dirt bike race being held near Murphy, Idaho on March 21st, 2010. This seems like a big deal to the people in and around Murphy. There will be lots of visitors to this huge and often ignored part of Idaho.

2. I didn't know that gophers were such a huge problem in our region. But Owyhee County may start offering a $1.00 bounty on gophers.
"Commissioner Freund made a motion to adopt Resolution 10-04 Relating to a $1.00 Owyhee County Gopher Tail Bounty with a $250.00 cap set as the maximum amount paid per household. Commissioner Hyer seconded the motion. Hyer-aye, Freund-aye, Hoagland-aye. The gopher tails will be taken to the Homedale and Opaline Tipping Stations, and to Weed Supervisor Robin Howard in Bruneau."
I certainly enjoyed reading these meeting minute notes from Owyhee County.
