Highest Idaho Gas Prices in Mountain Home Today

On Saturday June 21, 2008 I checked a handy-dandy website to find out who pays the most for gasoline in Idaho. It turns out that Mountain Home has the highest priced gasoline in all of Idaho.
Lowest of the Low in Northern Idaho
Lewiston and Post Falls pay around $3.92 for a gallon of gasoline.
Highest Gas Prices in Mountain Home
Mountain Home got the “dishonor” of having to pay about $4.17 for a gallon of gas.
High Price for the Good Life
When one lives in a great place, one has to pay the price? But because of the high prices of gas, we have had to limit our trips out of town. Hopefully once we get more settled in Mountain Home the price of gas will come down and we will do some more exploring of the mountain and deserts of southern Idaho.
Nuclear Mountain Home?

Being relatively new to Mountain Home, I was wondering what my readers who live in this area think about the proposed building of a nuclear power plant in our backyard. Unfortunately I missed the meeting held in town on June 10th, 2008 and the one in Glenns Ferry on June 17th, 2008. I would love to watch the entire presentation put on by Idaho Energy Complex.
Mixed Feelings
1. Who could possibly want a nuclear power plant in their backyard?
2. Who could possibly turn away an excellent source of jobs and revenue for Mountain Home?
3. Do we really want big growth to occur when most people like the small town look and feel of Mountain Home?
4. If Elmore County leaders and resident do not approve the nuclear power plant, it will likely be built in another county that will take advantage of the jobs that come with it.
How do YOU Stand on nuclear Power in Mountain Home, Idaho?
Take a few seconds to vote. Two quick mouse clicks is all it takes to make your opinion known about bringing nuclear power to Mountain Home..

How is the Bondyweb.Com Leaning on This Issue?
I am currently leaning towards allowing the nuclear power plant to be built in Elmore County. Why?
1. Like it or not, we are dependent on energy from foreign sources and this isn't a good thing.
2. While nuclear energy is kind of scary, the alternative of not having enough energy is way more troublesome to me.
3. Alternative energy such as wind, geothermal and solar is very appealing, but I think there is more than enough room for nuclear power production. I've never heard anyone say “Jeez, we have too much electrical energy production” without saying “We'll have to charge you less”.
4. I'd hate to see Mountain Home grow to a medium sized city but sometime progress or growth can be good.
King Mountain Hang Glider Championship

From July 14th through July 19th, 2008 you can watch some of the worlds best hang glider in action at the King Mountain Hang Glider Championship. The best part of this news is that you'll only have to travel about 165 miles from Mountain Home, Idaho to watch this event.
At the south end of the Lost River Range sits a southwest facing mountain. The height, orientation of the mountain and the wind and thermal conditions make this area one of the best places to hang glide. And you can watch a host of hang gliders launch off of King Mountain in their quest to grab the title "Champion Hang Glider".
If you have a free day between Monday July 14th and Saturday July 19th, think about heading to Moore, Idaho to watch a sporting event most people have never seen. Just think, when these pilots step off the launch pad, the next time they set foot back on ground could be in places like Salmon, Idaho or Dillon, Montana. And if the conditions are correct, they could easily fly over 115 miles on the thermals and updrafts of Idaho.
