Good Websites to Visit
Rock hounding in Idaho can be rewarding or just plain frustrating.  With mountains all around us, desert to the south and our crazy geologic past, the potential to find cool rocks is extremely high.  You just need to get out there and look.  Most of the time a rock hammer is all you need to come home with opals, agates, jasper or even crystals and in many cases, you hardly have to disturb the soil or environment.  Yes, there are interesting rocks, some valuable and some just incredible looking but not so valuable.

When I find a good website, it will eventually wind up listed here.  Take all information with a grain of salt, get out there and find your own rock hounding spots and adventures.  And if you find cool stuff, share them with me.
